Why 1852?

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in New Orleans in 1852.

For 175 years, we have remained committed to serving our neighbors in need, be it through providing eviction prevention, continuing adult education, helping keep lights on through utility assistance, and offering compassionate, person-to-person support when it’s needed most.

For generations, we have been there to support families facing hardship; Our mission is rooted in dignity, hope, and love, ensuring that no one has to face a crisis alone.

Every dollar and every donor represent the legacy of St. Vincent de Paul in action.
