HOW TO APPLY

STEP 2: APPLICANT PHONE INTERVIEW

  • Your application will be reviewed, and if accepted, you will be notified to participate in a phone interview. The initial interview is to determine your fit and eligibility for the Nourishing Louisiana VISTA program.

STEP 3: VIRTUAL INTERVIEW 

  • After the phone interview, you will be notified whether you have been selected to move forward to a virtual interview with the supervisor of the VISTA position(s) you've applied for.

STEP 4: CANDIDATE OFFERS

  • You will hear from our VISTA team if you have been accepted or declined from the position. If you do not accept or decline the offer within five business days, the offer may be sent to another candidate.

2021 - 2022 VISTA POSITIONS

The Mentorship VISTA Leader will enhance VISTA project success by supporting recruitment, selection, and onboarding of twelve highly qualified VISTA members committed to achieving project outcomes to increase access to food and healthcare for Louisianians living in poverty across 10 parishes.

 

Develop and support orientation and training to equip VISTA members with knowledge and skills related to the project. Enhance VISTA project and member effectiveness by facilitating the VISTA team, supporting team members in their work, and ensuring open communication between VISTAs and project staff.

​​VISTA Leaders must have one year of prior service experience in VISTA, NCCC, AmeriCorps State and National, or the Peace Corps to apply.

SUSTAINABILITY VISTA LEADER (FULFILLED

The Sustainability VISTA Leader will enhance VISTA project stability and sustainability by identifying best practices, measuring project impact and evaluating accomplishments over a year-long project period.

 

Enhance VISTA project success by developing and implementing systems and tools for data tracking and reporting.

 

Enhance VISTA project success by supporting recruitment and selection of highly qualified VISTA members.

VISTA Leaders must have one year of prior service experience in VISTA, NCCC, AmeriCorps State and National, or the Peace Corps to apply.

System Development and Evaluation VISTA will assess the current state
of targeted food distribution sites in each parish by assisting VISTA
members in collecting and analyzing relevant data on program outcomes and participants.

 

Work with VISTA leaders and SVDP staff to build and implement a data collection system to track volunteer and client information for evaluation and reporting.

 

Disseminate findings from evaluations to program leaders and community members to demonstrate program efficacy and continually improve program performance.

 

Support leadership in utilizing data to increase efficacy of program.

The Training and Resource Development VISTA will develop relevant, accessible training materials and resources for volunteers and staff leaders that are adaptable to each food distribution site and provide information for volunteers to add value to client experiences.

Survey partners to compile resources used by food distribution sites to share across the network and increase site efficacy.

 

Document best practices in current role and provide feedback to VISTA leaders or Program Director as needed.

The Parish Outreach VISTA will work in their assigned parish to recruit and manage new volunteers to build capacity at assigned food distribution sites.

 

Conduct targeted community outreach to raise awareness of services offered on-site and strengthen partnerships.

 

Reduce barriers to accessing healthcare services by establishing partnerships with healthcare organizations to bring mobile services and educational experiences to food distribution sites.
